Hertha BSC has improved its situation in the relegation battle of the German Bundesliga. The Berliners won the supplementary game against SC Freiburg on Thursday 3-0 (2-0) and climbed to 14th place. Hertha now has 30 points as well as Werder Bremen (15th) and Arminia Bielefeld (16th), but will still be able to make up one game.
The first two goals in the match against Freiburg, who ranked in the middle of the table, were scored by the Berlin team in the first 22 minutes with Krzysztof Piatek (13th) and Peter Pekarik (22nd).
