Hostage-taking in a restaurant in Vienna denied

Austrian Interior Minister Karl Nehammer denied information about the hostage-taking in the Japanese restaurant Akakiko on Mariahilfer Street. He stated this on the air of the ORF TV channel, RIA Novosti reports his words.

He also stressed that the terrorist attack in the city continues and urged to be guided by official data. “I ask for your understanding. We are under an obvious terrorist attack, this is a dynamic situation, ”he said, commenting on information coming from local media.

The shooting in Vienna took place on the evening of November 2. Initially, it was reported that the criminals opened fire near the synagogue in the city center, then it became known about several more shooting points in the city. According to preliminary data, seven people, including a policeman, were killed during the shootings. The police called the incident a terrorist attack.
