Podoljak explained why it is now impossible to resume negotiations with Russia/Office of the President

It makes no sense to sit down at the negotiating table with Russia right now. If the discussion is resumed, the Kremlin will want to secure the captured Ukrainian lands.

Russia will become more aggressive if it gets what it wants

This opinion was expressed by Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office Mikhail Podolyak. He noted that consensus could not be found at this time.

It is very important for Russia to secure the occupied territories. For Ukraine, discussion under these conditions is impossible. If negotiations take place today, Russia will want to secure the Kherson, Zaporozhye, Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Podolyak stressed.

According to him, this means that Russia's appetites will increase, and after a while the war will continue. In this case, Russia will become much more aggressive in the European market and the standard of living of Europeans will fall.

If Russia does not lose, it will continue to provoke Europe in such enclaves as Transnistria, Georgia and Northern Kazakhstan. – said the politician.

That is why it is important to expel Russian troops from Ukraine so that Moscow can change its aggressive political system.

What Ukraine needs to resume negotiations with Russia

Earlier, Podolyak said that Ukraine needs to have the right negotiating position, and it consists of several components:

• long-range artillery, MLRS and ATAСMS to destroy Russian logistics;
• anti-aircraft and missile defense to protect cities;
• strike drones;
• armored vehicles for counteroffensives.
