It became known that the soldier , who committed suicide, belonged to a military unit stationed in the city of Grodno. At the time of the incident, he was outside the permanent deployment point due to military exercises.

According to BYPOL, the emergency occurred in the security and maintenance company 250 separate battalion of protection and maintenance of the headquarters of the Western Operational Command.

It is noted that the absence of a young contract serviceman was noticed on August 8 while performing tasks to protect military facilities near the city of Luninets, during a change of security posts.< /p>

After that, his search was organized. At 18:30, the bodies of a serviceman were found in the forest with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

“The performance of tasks by a military unit outside the point of permanent deployment is associated with continuously ongoing exercises. One of the tasks of the 250th of a separate security and maintenance battalion is to protect the control points of the Western Operational Command. Preparations for the deployment of the control center of the operational command in the area of ​​​​the city of Luninets are confirmed by recent studies and training in communications, during which communications nodes of the control center were deployed in this area command and support network of forces and means of the 74th separate communications regiment of the Western Operational Command,” the message says.
