The Brazilian fire service said that the helicopter crashed on a street in Sao Paulo, the largest metropolis in South America.

The fire department, which is part of the Sao Paulo state military police, added that nine vehicles were damaged in the crash and that it was “awaiting more information.”

According to local media, the helicopter was classified as a Robinson R44 Raven II, believed to have belonged to an air taxi company.

According to the Brazilian Association of Helicopter Pilots, São Paulo has 411 registered private helicopters with 2,200 daily flights as of 2021.
