The State Emergency Service helicopter crashed in the center of Brovary on Petliura Street. According to the mayor, the crash occurred near a kindergarten.

Eyewitnesses told which kindergarten the State Emergency Service helicopter crashed. This happened approximately at 8:10 on January 18.

The mayor of Brovary, Igor Sapozhko, said that the explosion damaged the premises of the kindergarten and a nearby house. An aircraft crashed on Petlyura Street, causing a fire to break out. The premises of the kindergarten and one of the nearby houses were destroyed by a powerful explosion,” said Ihor Sapozhko.

According to the mayor, children, kindergarten workers and residents of nearby houses were promptly evacuated.

The head of the Kyiv OVA Oleksiy Kuleba explained at a briefing that the children had been transferred to another institution:

• as of the morning of January 18, there was no information about missing children;
• long work by their identification;
• the relevant services worked with the kids, parents came there, compiled lists.

It is noticeable on the map that the garden “Rodnichok” is located on this street. It was probably near him that the plane crash happened.

Brovanov resident Yulia told the Air Force that there is also a shopping center “Terminal” near the crash site.

This garden “Rodnichok” is located 100 meters from my house, on one of the central streets of the city. Nearby there is also another kindergarten and lyceum No. 10, – an eyewitness said.

Worth note that the place of the tragedy is less than 20 kilometers from Kyiv. In particular, from there to the metro station “Lesnaya” is only 14 kilometers away.
