In Chile, 15 people tested positive for coronavirus after a cat's birthday party, writes the New York Post.

It is noted that the incident took place in the city of Valparaiso. According to doctors, the pet owner himself could become patient zero at this party. According to various media reports, the condition of some of the guests is assessed as serious – they are hospitalized. At the same time, the cat itself did not become infected with the coronavirus.

Regional Secretary of the Ministry of Health Francisco Alvarez confirmed the incident and called the actions of compatriots “an unthinkable example of irresponsible behavior” during the pandemic.

Earlier in Belgium, 18 people died from coronavirus after Santa Claus's visit to a nursing home. However, virologists are not sure that Santa was the cause of the mass infection: poor ventilation in the room contributed to the spread of the virus.
