The fatal incident occurred in the Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The driver of the tractor, in the trailer of which there were about 50 people, lost control and the car rolled into the water.

This is reported by the New York Post.

All the victims are pilgrims who returned home after a religious ceremony in one of the local temples.

The victims were taken to the hospital, police and local residents were involved in the rescue work.

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath issued a statement in which he expressed condolences to the families of the dead and injured and urged not to use tractor trailers to transport people. He emphasized that they should only be used for transporting goods.

It was previously reported that in India, six relatives drowned while trying to save two sisters who decided to take a selfie by the reservoir.
