Six people were injured in the ICU, most of them light, according to local authorities. In Miyazaki, police confirmed four injuries, including a woman in her 50s who fell out of bed.

Injuries were also reported in Saga and Kumamoto prefectures on Kyushu Island.

After the earthquake, there was a temporary power outage in Oita, and water supply damage was reported in several places of Oita.
