Bernd Wiesberger is in top form at the BMW PGA Championship. Austria's number one moved up to the top of the field thanks to a strong round of 67 (total eleven under par). With that he not only maintained his fixed place in the Ryder Cup, but also increased his lead over his pursuer Matt Fitzpatrick (ENG) to four strokes.

On the third day, Wiesberger started with a bogey, but this time he turned it to the front nine with two birdies. After five more birdies with only one bogey, the Burgenlander was allowed to return to the clubhouse satisfied. First of all, that meant a shared place, but not all professionals had finished their round. Wiesberger cannot take his place in Team Europe for the 43rd Ryder Cup from September 24th to 26th in Whistling Straits.

Matthias Schwab remains the constancy in person: The Styrian recorded his third round of 69 and finished in twelfth place with a total of nine under par.
