Russian troops are trying to attack the positions of the Ukrainian military in the area of Maryinka and Avdiivka. However, their attempts were fruitless.

Colonel Aleksey Dmitrashkovsky, spokesman for the joint press center of the Defense Forces of the Tauride direction, spoke about this on the air of the telethon, Channel 24 reports.

The Russians are taking heavy losses.

According to him, over the past day, the enemy tried 21 times to attack the positions of the Ukrainian military in the area of Avdiivka and Maryinka. All attempts by the Russians were in vain, the invaders failed to achieve the desired success.

Dmitrashkovsky noted that at night the enemy stopped attacking altogether. He believes that this is due to the numerous losses of the Russian army in these areas.

The enemy lost about 2 companies of personnel killed and wounded yesterday, – said Dmitrashkovsky.

The speaker also said that in the area of Avdeevka and Marinka, another unit of special forces from the 98th air assault brigade joined the unit of the 155th brigade of the Russian army.

“The moral and psychological state of this unit is zero. What this special unit can do is not yet known,” the military added.

On the morning of March 18, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that in the Avdeevka, Maryinsky and Shakhtyorsk directions, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in the direction of the settlements of Kamenka, Nevelskoye, Avdeevka, Maryinka, Severnoye and Pervomayskoye of the Donetsk region. Numerous enemy shellings were carried out in areas of 21 settlements.
