In the Stavropol Territory, scientists increase the yield of tomatoes, including “music” for them

A unique experiment is being carried out in the Stavropol Territory. They increase the yield of tomatoes using low-frequency acoustic treatment, says MIR 24 correspondent Anna Parpura.

It is in people diseases from stress, in plants, on the contrary, – growth and prosperity. This is the conclusion reached by scientists from the North Caucasian Institute of Living Systems. And they began to irritate the tomatoes with low-frequency sound waves.

“Plants, experiencing an infrasound effect on themselves, activate survival mechanisms, since infrasound is a very powerful stimulus. Therefore, with short-term treatment, the mechanism of the struggle for life is activated. Plants enter a state of stress and begin to absorb more nutrients from water and soil, ”explained Tigran Ambartsumov, a student at the Institute of Living Systems at NCFU.

Plucked fruits from such exposure stay fresh longer, and seedlings grow better and give more yield. Since the end of last year, their installations have made an entire tomato greenhouse nervous. The low-frequency concert of the plant is listened to twice a day, day and night.

“According to preliminary studies, we observe that the average weight of tomatoes has increased by 3.5%. For the manufacturer, this can give a huge increase in the final profit, “said Tigran Ambartsumov, a student at the Institute of Living Systems of the NCFU.

The experiment began as soon as the seedlings reached two meters. Finish it when the tomatoes stop bearing fruit. So scientists will be able to study the impact of their invention on the entire life cycle of a plant and understand whether the technology can be put into industrial production.

“This is our know-how, since such research has not been carried out before. There were attempts to conduct such studies in America, but after studying their results, I realized that their studies were ineffective and the experiment was carried out incorrectly. Our development, we believe, will be able to promote an agro-industrial holding not only in the Stavropol Territory. If everything turns out well, then all of Russia, ”said Tigran Ambartsumov.

Scientists train not only on tomatoes. Last year they tried irritating rye, barley and wheat. The fields where their installations vibrated gave 20% more yield. Now they are trying to apply the new technology to animal products and stress milk. As intended, this should extend its shelf life.

“Since the experiment is still going on, I cannot give specific numbers, a number of experiments are still going on. But positive dynamics is observed, “- said Maria Vecherya, student of the Institute of Living Systems of SKFU.

The technology has not yet been patented, but research by scientists from the North Caucasus Institute is already being discussed all over the world. Specialists from Austria, France, Brazil, Kazakhstan and China are interested in the new technique.
