The United States intends to begin deploying F-35 fighters in Europe in late 2021. This term was named by US Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, 495 Squadron Commander Ian McLaughlin, reports The Drive.
It is specified that the fifth generation fighters will be equipped with the Valkyrie squadron, which is based at Lakenheath airbase in the UK. In total, it will include 27 F-35A Lightning II aircraft. This will be the first US Air Force F-35A squadron anywhere outside the United States.
Earlier, the American edition 19FortyFive explained the superiority of the F-35 over the Su-35. The publication noted that the Russian fourth-generation Su-35 fighter poses a danger to the United States and its allies due to its versatility, but the American fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II aircraft still surpasses it, being in great demand on the international market.
