In Transcarpathia, a court sentenced three teenagers who raped a 14-year-old girl in the summer of 2021. The attackers then filmed everything on the phone and distributed the video on the network.

The court sentenced three accusers to 5 years in prison. However, they were released from serving their sentence due to the fact that they are minors, having been placed on probation for 2 years.

Teenagers raped girlfriend and filmed everything

According to the investigation, in August 2021, the girl came to the basement at the invitation of one of the three teenagers. One of them hit the girl in the stomach, the other tilted her head and squeezed it between her legs so that she would not resist.

The teenagers then undressed the girl and took turns raping her. They filmed their crime on the phone and subsequently distributed these shots among the students of the local school.

The girl herself did not tell anyone about what happened to her for some time. At the same time, the victim's grandmother says that she noticed how her granddaughter had changed – she became gloomy, withdrawn and had problems sleeping. She learned about the rape from the police.

The girl herself explained that she was on friendly terms with the attackers, and therefore agreed to the invitation to the basement, because she did not even suspect that they could do this to her. After that, the girl explained the silence by the fact that she felt fear and shame because of what had happened.

Perpetrators must pay compensation

In its decision to release from serving a sentence with a probationary period, the court took into account that the attackers spoke well at the place of residence and education and the absence of a criminal record.

However, the victim asked to pay 450,000 hryvnias in moral compensation, but each offender reimbursed 20,000 hryvnias, which is why the prosecution asked to recover a 390,000 hryvnia difference in favor of the girl.

The court granted the request only partially – the attackers were ordered to pay the victim 60,000 hryvnia each, as well as cover procedural expenses in the amount of more than 25,000 hryvnia for each.
