The social network Instagram announced that new accounts of teenagers under 16 will automatically become private. This means that posts and “stories” will not appear in the “interesting” section and by searching for hashtags.
Instagram has previously tested this feature among teens and found that the majority chose to keep their account private. Also, Instagram with the help of special technology will not show open posts and “stories” in the recommendations of people with suspicious behavior. Advertisers will be restricted from serving their ad to teens. Earlier in March 2021, Instagram banned adult users from texting teens who didn't follow them.
