Defense Procurement Investigation: Suspicions Served on Several Top Officials, Media

The Office of the Prosecutor General reported the suspicion to two officials of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the former deputy head of the state enterprise Promoboronexport.

The publication reports that officials were given suspicions, citing their own sources in law enforcement agencies.

Who was given suspicions

< p>According to journalists, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported suspicions to:

  • Former Deputy Director of the Department of Public Procurement of the Ministry of Defense Bohdan Khmelnitsky,
  • Former Deputy Minister of Defense Vyacheslav Shapovalov,
  • < li>to the former deputy of the state enterprise “Promoboronexport” Vladimir Tereshchenko.

What representatives of the Ministry of Defense are suspected of

Sources report that Bohdan Khmelnytsky was charged with embezzlement of state funds in the amount of 107,796 050 hryvnia and providing units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with low-quality body armor in the amount of 5,700 pieces.

Meanwhile, Shapovalov is suspected of illegal actions, as a result of which certain units of the Armed Forces were not equipped with personal protective equipment worth more than 1 billion hryvnia.

Tereshchenko, who is now deputy head of the department for coordinating foreign economic activity of the Moscow Region, was suspected of misappropriating state funds in the amount of $1,340,000 “through abuse and forgery”.
