The terrorist surrendered to the police
The shooter was detained on August 14 at about 8:00 am. According to the police, the terrorist who fired in Jerusalem surrendered and handed over the weapons he used in the attack.
The terrorist was detained in the Silwan area (Siluan, Shiloah). It is not yet known whether a possible accomplice of the terrorist was detained.
What is known about the terrorist attack in Jerusalem
On the night of August 14, a terrorist attack took place near the Wailing Wall: an unknown person opened fire, because of which no less than 7 people. At the same time, the Israeli Magen David Adom (MDA) ambulance service reports 8 wounded.
The shooter opened fire on the bus on the road near the Wailing Wall, as well as in the parking lot at the tomb of King David, not far from the Zion Gate of the Old City. The offender waited for the bus to arrive and fired when the passengers got on it and disappeared after the shooting.
It is reported that two people were seriously injured and among the victims was a 35-year-old pregnant woman. All the victims were taken to hospitals in Jerusalem.
The Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, called the attack “heroic.” The terrorists said it was “a natural response to the daily crimes of the occupation against the people, the country and the main Muslim and Christian places.”
