Ukraine has stopped the supply of water to the territory of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) from the Western filtering station, which is controlled by Kiev. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the enterprise “Luganskvoda”.

“The Ukrainian side from 21 o'clock (coincides with Moscow time) on January 2 stopped the supply of water from the Western filtering station to the territory of the LPR,” said a representative of the enterprise. According to him, the reason was the damage to the main water conduit from the filtering station.

It is noted that due to the accident, the water supply to the Perevalsky district, Alchevsk, Bryanka, Kirovsk and Stakhanov was reduced. The water supply to Pervomaisk was completely stopped.

“It is possible to restore the water supply in the planned volumes after the resumption of water supply from the pumping station ZFS-3 (Western filtering station-3 – approx.” “ )”, – added in the press service.

Earlier, journalist Dmitry Gordon called on the Ukrainian authorities to completely cut off the supply of fresh water to Crimea. In his opinion, Kiev should directly appeal to Moscow demanding that water be supplied to the territory of the peninsula by humanitarian convoys only for Ukrainian citizens.
