Latvian Minister of the Interior Maris Kuchinskis said that his department is ready to ensure proper border protection in the event of a mass flight of Russians from mobilization to the territory of a neighboring country.

According to the Latvian minister, an appropriate action plan has already been developed and tested on the Latvian-Belarusian border.
“Latvia has accumulated considerable experience, and the” training “organized by Belarusians has benefited professionalism of the Latvian services,” he stressed.
Maris Kuchinskis noted that at present, on the territory of Latvia near the border with Russia, only isolated incidents, the overall situation is under control.
“However, the same cannot be said about the Belarusian border. It is very rare that there is a morning when there is a zero in the column of the report on attempts to illegally cross the border. Perhaps it will be so as long as the Lukashenka regime remains in power,” the head of the Latvian Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.
At the same time, he stressed that among the violators of the Belarusian-Latvian border there are many Russians arriving by plane to Minsk from Moscow .
