Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has coined a new term to describe the actions of Western leaders. This was announced on Facebook by the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
“Sergei Lavrov introduced a new political science term – freak diplomacy of Western leaders,” Zakharova wrote. In her post, she quoted the minister's words from a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Goncharov Foundation, where he drew attention to the fact that “a new phenomenon has appeared in the arsenal of a number of Western leaders: fake, and sometimes freak diplomacy.”
Earlier, a new crisis broke out in relations between Russia and the United States after US President Joe Biden said in an interview with ABC News that he wanted to hold the Russian state accountable for alleged interference in the US elections. He spoke about a conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and added that he would pay if he was found guilty. In the same conversation, Biden made a harsh statement about the Russian president.
After the statements of the American leader, the Russian ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, was invited to Moscow to revise Russian-American relations. The Kremlin, however, stated Joe Biden's unwillingness to improve relations with Moscow.
