In the Kyiv region, a doctor was suspected of leaving a foreign object in the body of a little boy. To remove a piece of napkin, the doctors had to perform another operation on the child.

Doctors reported suspicion on the fact of improper performance of professional duties.

According to the investigation, a 7-year-old boy was operated on in the surgical department of a hospital in the Kyiv region. After being discharged from the hospital, the child complained of feeling unwell. The parents took their son to “Okhmatdet”.

There, he underwent a second surgical intervention, during which the medical staff took out a piece of a napkin left after the preliminary operation from the child’s body, the regional prosecutor’s office said.

Now the suspected doctor faces restriction of freedom for up to five years or up to three years in prison, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.

In Chortkiv, Ternopil region, on February 16, 22 patients underwent procedures at the city hospital. The purpose of the manipulation was to improve vision, but in the end, drug negligence led to his complete loss. This was told to Channel 24 by the journalist “Our money. Lviv” Ekaterina Rodak.

Most patients were previously diagnosed with retinopathy, a disease of the retina that leads to visual impairment. People were given injections in the eyes. Similar procedures took place until February 16, but it was on this date that the doctors decided to use the non-certified drug Altuzan.

An investigation is currently underway, and some relatives of the victims are set to sue the doctors.
