Listeria! Supermarket must

It is the fourth case in which a food item has to be recalled within just 24 hours. This time a cheese is affected.

“Such a cheese”, Lidl customers can now imagine. Lactalis Deutschland GmbH is recalling a letter tip on the Austrian market in which Listeria monocytogenes was detected in a sample as part of a routine check. The product Le Brie “Chêne d'argent” with the best before date 11.12.2020 and the batch number: 304 AD is affected by the recall. Products with a different expiration date are not affected.

The product has been on the market at Lidl in Austria since November 11, 2020. Sales of the affected product were stopped immediately. Consumers who have purchased this product are asked not to consume it and to dispose of the food themselves or bring it back to the store. The purchase price will of course be reimbursed, even without a receipt.

Listeria monocytogenes can lead to flu-like symptoms such as fever, muscle pain and, under certain circumstances, vomiting and diarrhea after consumption of contaminated products. Consumers who have consumed the product and suffer from the symptoms described should consult their doctor immediately and refrain from consuming the contaminated Product as well as place of purchase and date.

In particular, pregnant women, small children and people with a weakened immune system can cause serious illnesses as a result of consumption. You should consult a doctor after consuming the affected product even without symptoms.
