British police have released from custody a man who was arrested for attacking the Belarusian embassy in London. This is reported by TASS with reference to Scotland Yard.

The police said that the arrested man was released and is under investigation. Scotland Yard added that the investigation is ongoing.

On December 20, Advisor to the Belarusian Embassy Andrei Miskevich spoke about the details of the attack. According to him, the conflict began after activists tried to throw eggs at the building. “People were obviously in a state of alcoholic intoxication. We, as far as possible, tried to calm them down. And later, after the arrival of a police squad, one of the attackers struck a blow in the consul's face with his fist, ”the diplomat said.

On December 19, it became known about the attack on the Belarusian embassy in London. The republic's foreign ministry said the injured consul required urgent medical attention. The attack was carried out by a group of young people who called themselves opponents of the President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko.
