Ukrainians were stunned by the footage during the exchange, because all the fighters were thin, tired and dressed in summer uniforms. The sister of the liberated defender of the Kyiv region spoke on the TV channel “Kyiv” about the conditions in which our soldiers lived.
The defender lost 30 kilograms
Warrior Maxim, who was captured during the defense of the Kiev region, returned home on February 4. For 10 months of captivity, he lost 30 kilograms of weight. The fighter’s sister, Irina Meshcheryakova, says that Ukrainians in captivity received a meager amount of food per day and did not go outdoors.

According to her, there were 14 people in the cell where her brother was kept.
They were given less than 2 cups of food daily. And 4 cups of warm drink for 14 people 3 times a day, the woman said.
She called the worst thing that until the summer the military had never been in the open air. Only closer to autumn, says Meshcheryakova, did the prisoners begin to be taken out for a few minutes in summer clothes.

- < li> The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, noted that it was a rather successful and large exchange. It became possible thanks to the joint work of all bodies involved in the activities of the Coordination Headquarters.
- Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Dmitry Usov reported that among the released were 87 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Also, 19 representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs returned home.
- Chairman of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak noted the great personal contribution to the process of preparing for the exchange of prisoners of the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Monastyrsky, who died in a helicopter crash in Brovary.
- Acting Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko added that among the released there is a representative of the National Guard, who was previously considered missing.
