Made it clear: Xi warned Putin against using nuclear weapons
During an official visit to Moscow, Xi Jinping made it clear to Vladimir Putin that the use of nuclear weapons is unacceptable. In Europe, they believe that the trip of the Chinese leader “made the world safer.”
This opinion was expressed by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell in a commentary to journalists. He believes that this visit reduced the risk of nuclear war.
Xi lowered the risk of nuclear war
In a commentary to journalists, Josep Borrell said that Xi Jinping did not cross “any red lines” during his visit to Moscow, so there is no reason to worry. At the same time, the European politician does not consider the friendship between Xi and Putin to be “limitless.” That is why the Chinese leader “reduced the likelihood of using nuclear weapons.”
This visit reduces the risk of nuclear war, and they (China – Channel 24) have made this very clear, Borrell said.
Also, according to Borrell, Xi presented Putin with a peace plan after the end of the war in Ukraine, which warns against the use of nuclear weapons. In addition, Beijing, according to the European politician, is not going to provide any lethal weapons to Russia.
Borrell believes that the Chinese leader wants to become a coordinator on the issue of Russia's war against Ukraine, but not an ally of the Kremlin.
