Lothar Matthäus and his (ex-) wife Anastasia

Lothar Matthäus is single again! The 60-year-old has separated from his wife Anastasia, who is 27 years his junior. It was his fifth marriage.

Germany's record international player Lothar Matthäus has closed the next chapter of marriage and divorced for the fifth time. The separation from his 27 years younger wife Anastasia was a long time ago.

In 2014, the former footballer took the big step for the fifth time! After the birth of their son, the former soccer star Anastasia Klimko married.

Since then, the couple seemed overjoyed – but now their love happiness has come to an end. The divorce was even a while ago, as Matthäus confirmed to “BILD”.

“We have been divorced since the beginning of the year,” the 60-year-old told the German tabloid. “Nobody has asked us about it until now. And you don't tie private matters on anyone's face either.”

He and his wife had recognized that they had grown apart, there had been no quarrel and trouble. Above all, the well-being of their son is important (7).

Anastasia herself also confirmed to “BILD”: “Yes, we got a divorce in January. It was our joint decision. We couldn't have solved it better.”
