Ukrainian law enforcement agencies have begun a series of searches of officials and business representatives. Such actions are due to the internal request of the society and the need to attract the trust of the European community.

The head of the Joint Action Center analytical and advocacy organization Oleg Rybachuk. He stressed that Western partners strive to ensure that anti-corruption laws and reforms are not just signed, but actually implemented.

According to Rybachuk, it is not enough for our Western partners to conduct searches and arrest several people. They strive for fundamental changes, and progress will be assessed after the law actually comes into force and some time has passed. It will be when Ukrainian citizens, activists, businesses will confirm real changes.

For the West, it is not personal searches that are important, but selected events, it is important for them to build a systemic independent judiciary authorities. – emphasized the speaker.

Ukraine must not stop

Rybachuk emphasized that at one time there were a number of countries that opposed granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for joining the European Union. And now everyone expects real results from the work of the Ukrainian authorities.

In order to start negotiations on Ukraine's integration into the EU, our state must fulfill all 7 conditions by 12 points out of 12, the speaker is convinced.

Rybachuk connects the searches of Avakov, Kolomoisky and others with two factors: the request of the Ukrainian society and the visit of European leaders as part of the Ukraine-EU summit in Kyiv on February 3. This will also have an effect on people who check the use of American aid in Ukraine.

The expert is convinced that this is how the Ukrainian authorities are trying to remove the flurry of criticism “somewhere sincerely, somewhere opportunistically.”

Ukraine must inspire investors' confidence

“We want to talk about membership in the EU, NATO, restore not the old, but the new Ukraine. For this, we need a very effective government that enjoys confidence, both inside the country , and from external investors,” the expert emphasized.

He believes that in order to restore Ukraine, first of all, it will be necessary to attract investors who will trust it. They are already looking for opportunities and signals to start investing.
