Criminal cases against Viktor Medvedchuk were initiated back in 2021. Then Putin's godfather was sent under house arrest, but after the start of a full-scale Russian invasion, he disappeared. However, on April 12, the SBU carried out a successful operation and detained Medvedchuk.
Subsequently, the Lychakovsky District Court of Lvov arrested Putin's godfather without the right to bail. It is worth noting that Ukraine considered the possibility of exchanging Medvedchuk for defenders and civilians from Azovstal, but the Kremlin refused to do so.
