Microsoft has made it harder to choose the default browser in Windows 11

Science, technology and technology news

The American corporation Microsoft has made it difficult to change the default browser in the upcoming operating system Windows 11. It is reported by The Verge.

Now, the only easy way to change the default settings is to select a new browser on first launch. If you do not check the “always use this application” option, the browser will not become the default application.

Then in Windows 11, in the “Settings” you will now need to set the default browser for each type of file or link, that is, for HTM, HTML, PDF, SHTML, SVG, WEBP, XHT, XHTML, FTP, HTTP and HTTPS. This is more complex than previous versions of Windows. In this case, the operating system will offer to first try out the Edge browser before changing it. Widgets, on the other hand, will ignore the default browser settings and open links through Edge. Google, Firefox and Opera have already expressed their dissatisfaction with the changes.
