Miss Belarus-2008, participant of the Miss World contest Olga Khizhinkova was released from the pre-trial detention center in Zhodino after administrative arrest. This was reported on Sunday, December 20, on the Tut.by portal.

Khizhnikova spent about 42 days in the isolation ward. She was transferred to Zhodino before the end of her term, and before that she was in the Minsk CIP on Akrestsin Street.

According to the newspaper, “Miss Belarus-2008” was met by relatives and close friends.

Olga Khizhinkova was detained at a protest in Minsk in early November. Later it became known that she was arrested for almost a month under the administrative article “Violation of the procedure for organizing or holding mass events.” Initially, she was supposed to leave the pre-trial detention center on December 11, but this did not happen.

On December 17, residents of Belarus staged a massive flash mob in support of the arrested Miss Belarus-2008. Photos began to appear on the Instagram social network under the hashtag # ЯMyKhizhinkova. The girls showed their legs in pantyhose and stockings against the background of Conte packages, since Khizhinkova has been the face of this brand for many years.

In Belarus, mass protests have been going on for four months over the official results of the presidential elections, according to which Alexander Lukashenko, who ran for a sixth term, won 80 percent of the vote. The first rallies were violently dispersed. A number of opposition politicians have been arrested. The Belarusian leader argued that the West was behind the events.
