Russian propaganda links the emergence of monkeypox with non-existent Ukrainian “biological laboratories”.

Rospropagandists claim that the United States allegedly developed viruses in Ukrainian biological laboratories, among which was monkey pox.

This is reported by the Center for Counteracting Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council.

According to the legend of Russia, seemingly careless laboratory personnel broke a test tube with a virus already during the “special operation”, after which millions Ukrainian refugees “spread” smallpox across Europe.

The propagandists also remembered the festival of sexual minorities, consisting which appeared on the island of Gran Canaria, after which there seemed to be an outbreak of the virus. But the mention was in the context of homophobia, and not a mass event that contributed to the rapid spread.

“The Russian Federation has no facts to confirm these judgments, and promotes its theories at the level of conspiracy theories. But this is enough for the Russians to switch their attention to the theme of the war and its defeat on the theme of another virus,” the CRC notes.

Recall that the Ministry of Health of Ukraine has officially stated that not a single case of monkeypox has been recorded in Ukraine.< /p>
