Anna Chernenko, a correspondent from Kharkiv, announced this on the air of Channel 24 . According to her, the health of Ukrainians who survived torture by the occupiers now has certain consequences, their condition is being monitored.

The number of victims is actually higher

Chernenko noted that in the Kharkiv region, law enforcement officers found 27 places for torturing people , 25 of them have already been examined. Two dungeons cannot yet be examined, because they are located either in the temporarily occupied territory or in the war zone.

The correspondent of Channel 24 stressed that at present there are testimonies from about 200 people in cases of torture of people. However, the actual number of victims is much higher . She says that many victims do not agree to talk about torture because it is morally difficult for them.

Many do not want their faces to be shown, to which they are fully entitled. They are mentally unprepared or afraid of persecution by collaborators who remained in the region. Law enforcement officers are working with these people,” she said.
