Yevgeniy Tselik, from Kyiv, traveled from Kyiv to Zaporozhye. He began his walking journey on the morning of July 7 and ended on the evening of July 30.

How Zhenya got from Kyiv to Zaporozhye – all for the sake of the Armed Forces

The guy went through 50 cities and villages in 6 regions and achieved his goal. Zhenya intended to raise a million hryvnias for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and he succeeded. Details about his act were told by the secretary of the Zaporozhye City Council Anatoly Kurtev.

The guy lives in Kyiv and works as a waiter in the capital's cafes. After February 24, he began to actively engage in volunteering. A few months ago, I set myself the goal of walking from Kyiv to Zaporozhye and collecting a million hryvnias for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Zhenya set off on the morning of July 7 with a 15-kilogram backpack and a tent. On the first day he injured his knee, and on the second day he reached the village of Staiki, Obukhovsky district, where he was invited by a real Cossack family. He was accepted as a native, given medicines and a knee brace, and offered to rest.

As Kurtev noted, during the trip, Zhenya was constantly checked by the police and stopped by troopers. But, in spite of everything, he never thought to leave his plan and walked more than 500 kilometers.

In the first days he walked 25-30 km. At night, he either pitched a tent somewhere in a forest belt, or stayed with caring people.

During our meeting, Zhenya said that he managed to collect almost 950 thousand hryvnias. Until the full achievement of Zhenya's goal, there is very little left. All of us can help the guy collect the coveted million for our soldiers,” wrote Kurtev.
