More than 647 children suffered in Ukraine as a result of Russia's full-scale armed aggression. As of the morning of May 15, 2022, the official number of child victims has not changed – 227.

Children suffered the most in the following regions:

  • Kyiv – 116
  • Kharkiv – 99
  • Chernihiv – 68
  • Khersonskaya – 48
  • Luganskaya – 45
  • Nikolaevskaya – 44
  • Zaporozhye – 28
  • Sumskaya – 17
  • Zhytomyrska – 15
  • Kyiv – 16

In addition, the Office of the Prosecutor General noted that due to the bombing and shelling of Ukrainian cities and villages by Russian invaders, 1 748 educational institutions. At the same time, 144 of them were destroyed to the ground.

More than 1200 Ukrainian children went missing

From February 24 to May 14, 2022, more than 1,200 children have already gone missing in Ukraine due to the Russian attack. According to the coordinating headquarters for the protection of children's rights in wartime conditions, during the war, 1,112 complaints were received about the disappearance of 1,214 children.

According to the presidential commissioner for children's rights, Darya Gerasimchuk, currently on the wanted list 90 Ukrainian children remain.

Important: On May 12, in the Kherson region, 2 children were injured from shelling by Russian invaders. The Russians then shelled the village of Dobryanka in the Berislav region. As a result, a 9-year-old boy was injured. They also shot at the evacuation convoy, where a 10-year-old child who was sitting in one of the cars was injured. Another tragic incident occurred in the Dnipro hospital. There, an 11-year-old boy from Zolote in the Kharkov region died. Because of the shelling of Russia, he was in a critical condition.
