Moscow authorities told about the timing of the flowering of allergenic plants in 2021
In the complex of the municipal economy of Moscow, residents of the capital were told about the approximate dates of dusting of allergenic plants in 2021. The agency posted the corresponding calendar on its Telegram channel.
Alder is actively blooming in the metropolitan area, and hazel blossoms are almost over, officials said. In the third decade of April, experts expect the peak dusting of birch, willow, poplar, ash, as well as elm and maple. These plants often cause allergies.
“A lot of pollen is produced in the inflorescences of these plants. It is small and light. Therefore, the wind easily picks up and carries it over long distances, ”the department explained.
Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor expert Marina Vershinina said that almost a quarter of the country's population suffers from allergic rhinitis in Russia. Up to 45% of cases are due to hay fever, a disease caused by plant pollen. In Central Russia, birch is the leader among allergenic trees. According to Vershinina, the masks that are now being worn to fight the coronavirus can also help protect against pollen. They reduce the risk of allergic reactions when going outside.
