Moscow urged Washington to establish communication in the Russian Consulate General
Moscow calls on Washington to establish telephone communications at the Russian consulate general in New York as soon as possible. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on.
“In the current situation, the State Department, which was officially notified of the malfunction, simply averted the problem,” she said.
According to Zakharova, this position of Washington speaks of the groundlessness of accusations against Moscow, which, among other things, relate to the cramped working conditions of American ambassadors in Russia. She recalled that many who apply to the Russian Consulate General are US citizens.
Earlier, the Russian Consulate General in New York also complained about the lack of facsimile communication with Russia. According to one diplomat, she has been gone for several months.
On the evening of January 19, it became known that all city telephone lines were cut off at the Russian Consulate General in New York. Also, periodically there are problems with access to the Internet, the embassy staff said. According to him, there were no communication problems before.
