Microsoft will limit the return period from a new operating system to Windows 10. This was reported on the company's website.
The corporation has updated the page dedicated to the launch of Windows 11. In the section of frequently asked questions, the company's specialists explained that the user will be able to return from the next generation OS to Windows 10, if the first does not suit him for some reason. The downgrade can be completed within ten days after the update. In this case, the return will occur with the preservation of all settings and user files.
In the event that the user decides to return to Windows 10 after the specified period, he will have to use another method. To preserve all system settings and files, the user will need to back up data and perform a clean installation of the operating system.
At the same time, the company's specialists noted that such a return is undesirable. Windows 10 will end support in October 2025.
Earlier, Microsoft representatives said that a free Windows 11 update will be available within a year after the OS release. Tentatively, Windows 10 users will be able to upgrade before the end of 2022. The announcement of the new generation operating system took place at the end of June.
