NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that he does not see a direct threat from Russia and China – and for this the member countries of the alliance should be thanked. Reported by RIA Novosti.
“They ask me if I see a threat to NATO from Russia or China. Today I do not see any military threat or prospect of a military attack on any of the NATO members. One of the reasons for this is that NATO exists. If there is an attack, it will provoke a reaction from all allies. This is one of the main reasons thanks to which we have been able to keep the peace for over 70 years, ”the agency quotes Stoltenberg’s speech at a joint meeting of the European Parliament’s International Affairs Committee and the Subcommittee on Defense and Security.
In February, it was reported that the Pentagon considered Russia an undeniable threat to NATO. According to a source from the US military department, “the Russians are using military force to achieve their goals, they are wreaking havoc and doubt, and undermining international order.”
