Nobel laureate Mario Molina dies

Nobel Prize winner in chemistry, Mario Jose Molina, died in Mexico at the age of 78. RIA Novosti reports.

The ozone hole researcher received the prestigious award in 1995. The scientific community has appreciated his 1974 prediction of the depletion of the ozone layer due to industrial gas emissions.

On October 7 the winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry became known. In 2020, the award went to Emmanuelle Charpentier and Jennifer Doudna for advancing genome editing techniques.
