North Korea launched an unidentified projectile towards the Sea of Japan. This is reported by the agency “Yonhap” with reference to the military of South Korea.

North Korea fires a projectile for the third time in a week. The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) did not provide details.

Earlier on January 11, North Korea successfully tested a hypersonic missile, marking the second launch of North Korean weapons this year. The tests took place in the presence of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. The missile flew 1000 kilometers and accurately hit the target.

The United States proposed to respond with UN sanctions to a series of missile launches by the DPRK. We are talking about launches of six ballistic missiles since the fall of 2021, each of which was carried out in violation of UN Security Council resolutions.e

In response, North Korean authorities warned the United States of a “tougher response.” The North Korean Foreign Ministry called the recent missile launches “the exercise of the right to self-defense.”

On January 5, North Korea announced that it had successfully tested a supersonic missile. Also, the Armed Forces of South Korea reported the launch of an unidentified projectile towards the Sea of Japan. According to the Japan Coast Guard, the DPRK launched a ballistic missile with a range of about 500 kilometers.
