North Korea has announced it is testing its underwater drone, which is supposedly capable of creating a “radioactive tsunami”.

The nuclear-powered unmanned submarine attack boat was launched on 21 March. According to media reports, in total he was in the water for 59 hours and 12 minutes at a depth of 80-150 meters. He reached the target, and the test warhead exploded off the east coast.

“According to the test results, all the tactical and technical characteristics and navigational and technical indicators of the nuclear submarine unmanned boat were accurately assessed, the reliability and safety were checked, and the combat capability was fully confirmed,” the DPRK news agency noted.

According to local media, this unmanned system can allegedly be used for surprise attacks, the destruction of naval strike groups and operational ports by creating a “super-scale” radioactive wave using an underwater explosion.

Pyongyang's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) called the new underwater attack system a “secret weapon” and noted that the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea called it the “Tsunami Nuclear Unmanned Submarine Attack Boat.”

Also, the DPRK also stated that the tests are taking place in response to “enemy training by the United States and South Korea.
