Not only Bakhmut: a military expert told where the difficult situation is at the front

The situation at the front in the East remains stably difficult. However, there is a certain trend towards a decrease in the intensity of hostilities on the part of the enemy.

This was told to Channel 24 by Lieutenant General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in reserve, military expert Igor Romanenko. According to him, a partial decrease in the intensity of fighting in certain areas is associated with heavy losses for Russia.

As Romanenko noted, the Russian army suffers huge losses along the entire length of the front line.

“The Russians have especially heavy losses around Bakhmut, but not only. The situation has escalated due to the fact that the enemy is advancing in the Kupyansky and Limansky directions – in the area of u200bu200bthe settlements of Kremennaya and Dibrova,” the military expert noted.

What steps is the enemy planning

According to him, earlier the enemy planned to create coverage of the operational level, advancing in the Limansky direction – from Kremennaya and further, and in the south – from Vugledar. The Russians wanted to unite the directions of their movement at one point.

Now there is a threat that the enemy can direct a blow from Kremennaya to the north, and from Kupyansk to the south. Thus, operational coverage can take place, although on a smaller scale, – said the lieutenant general of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in reserve.

Romanenko explained that the term “operational coverage” essentially means the formation of a so-called cauldron.

APU frustrate the plans of the occupiers

However, the Ukrainian Defense Forces frustrate all the intentions of the occupying forces.

We see from Bakhmut and not only how for several months in a row all the plans of the Russians have been frustrated in terms of the timing and pace of progress,” Romanenko noted.

He stressed that the occupiers would not be able to fulfill their strategic plan – the capture of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions within the administrative boundaries. The military expert added that the plans of the enemy will be fundamentally thwarted in the coming month.

What is happening at the front: the main thing

  • The Armed Forces of Ukraine are powerfully resisting the enemy in all directions. The most difficult thing now is in Bakhmut, where our fighters are holding the defense with all their might.
  • Russia continues to dream of occupying the territories of Ukraine and is conducting active offensive operations, despite the enormous losses. The enemy focused on five directions – Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky, Maryinsky and Shakhtyorsky.
  • As the former head of the Lugansk OVA, Sergei Gaidai, said, the situation in the Belogorovsk direction is now absolutely stable. According to Gaidai, the occupiers are trying to find some “gap” on the right or left, just not to go to Belogorovka, because they are simply tired of dying there.
