Number of accusations against Putin will grow, - Russian oppositionist on arrest warrant

The International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin. This decision was made due to the illegal deportation of children from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to Russia. Over time, there will be more accusations against Putin.

Russian opposition politician Gennady Gudkov told Channel 24 about this. He compared this situation with how mafia leaders are caught in different countries.

There will be more accusations

As Gudkov noted, mafia leaders are often detained in Western countries for “second-rate” crimes such as organizing smuggling, drug trafficking, etc. It is often very difficult to prove guilt for “main activity”.

Therefore, attackers are caught on minor crimes, and then they work hard on new charges. The same will happen with Vladimir Putin.

While a tribunal is being created, tens of thousands of testimonies about the war are being handed over, and legal experts are looking for Putin's legal connection with the war in order to accuse him of war crimes … And then Putin comes on the screen and, in fact, publicly announces the deportation of children. This is a confession, – said Gudkov.

Putin literally framed himself. And the accusations themselves will only grow over time. He became a hypertoxic “outcast” with whom no one would negotiate.

As Gudkov is convinced, this is another excellent signal for the Russian elites. If someone thought that it would be possible to coexist somehow with the Putin regime, now there are no options anymore.

This is another signal for the elites. Something like – people, everything is clear with you and with you too, if you continue to support him. There are enough cameras in The Hague for everyone. This can provoke a split among the elites, which has been talked about a lot. – says Gudkov.

Arrest warrant for Putin: in short

  • The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and Children's Ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova. All because of the illegal deportation of children from Russia to Ukraine.
  • The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine has already handed over to the ISS more than 40 volumes of materials, which deal with the removal of more than 16,000 children from Kharkiv, Kherson, Donetsk and Luhansk regions. But these facts can be much more.
  • US President Joe Biden believes that the decision of the ISS regarding Putin is correct.
