American nutritionists have discovered an unexpected property of prunes. In a study published in the Journal of Nutrition Bulletin, they stated that it reduces sugar cravings.

According to experts, people who ate prunes during the study felt less hungry and consumed fewer calories. Experts called this product one of the best for a snack. So, nutritionist Lauren Manaker noted that prunes can replace unhealthy desserts for sweet tooth. She added that this dried fruit is loaded with natural antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, and fiber. Each contains approximately 3.5 grams of natural sugars and 0.5 grams of fiber.

Earlier, American doctors and nutritionists called the beneficial effects of eating fish twice a week. According to dietitian and health author Jackson Blatner, this group of foods is rich in omega-3 acids, which are extremely beneficial for the brain: they help its cells fight age-related changes, air pollution and other adverse factors.
