Sports complex in Kharkiv after a rocket attack/Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office

Russian invaders continue to mercilessly shell Kharkov. During one of these attacks, a rocket hit a sports complex in the city center.

According to rescuers, a Russian rocket hit one of the sports facilities in the Kievsky district of Kharkov around 00:26 on June 24. In all likelihood, this missile was fired from the territory of Russia – Belgorod.

As a result of the missile attack, the building suffered significant damage. There was a fire that covered an area of ​​200 square meters. 5 operational departments of the State Emergency Service were involved in its liquidation. At 04:09 firefighters managed to curb the fire. There were no preliminary victims.

The sports complex was almost completely destroyed, the prosecutor's office began a pre-trial investigation into criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (part 1 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It should be noted that this sports complex in Kharkov was also used to train athletes for the Ukrainian Olympic team.

Shelling of Kharkiv region on June 23

It should be noted that during the day from June 23 to June 24, the rescuers of the Kharkov garrison of the State Emergency Service continued to perform their duties in wartime conditions. In total, during the day, rescuers made 29 operational trips, of which 18 were to eliminate fires, including fires caused by shelling – 16.

The fire caused by enemy shelling occurred in the Kievsky district of Kharkov, as well as Chuguevsky, Izyumsky, Kharkiv and Bogodukhovsky districts of the region. Private houses, outbuildings, cars, administrative and industrial buildings, as well as ecosystems were on fire.

• On the morning of June 23, in the city of Balakliya, as a result of shelling, about fifty wooden sheds, 4 garages and a car immediately caught fire. The fire brigade went to the scene of the fire at 05:35, and already at 07:49 the fire was extinguished.
• At 07:46, one of the shells hit a private house in Chuguev. 4 people were injured there. The fire on an area of ​​70 square meters was eliminated at 11:10.
• The village of Tsirkuny was shelled at about 20:00. There were 3 fires at once. Burned 3 two-story houses on a total area of ​​850 square meters. The last cell of the fire was liquidated at 23:30.
• At 22:40 an enemy shell hit a private courtyard in the city of Dergachi. A garage, a summer kitchen, an outbuilding and 2 cars on an area of ​​80 square meters were on fire. The fire was tamed at 01:20.

The sports complex destroyed by the invaders is not the first sports facility in the city and the Kharkiv region that has been damaged since the beginning of the war. So, a sports complex of KhNU named after Karazin “Unifekht”, the base of the football club “Metalist 1925” in Vysoky, an aero club in Korotich were destroyed by a missile.
