MOSCOW, June 10. / TASS /. / TASS /. Tests of Biosphere biological treatment facilities have started at the Omsk refinery (refinery) of Gazprom Neft, Rosprirodnadzor reports.

“The project called” Biosphere “is being implemented using the most advanced technologies to date. Water will pass sequentially through mechanical treatment, flotation, biological treatment units, membrane and carbon filters. the service reports.

“Biosphere” disinfects water with ultraviolet light, after which it is returned to production. “Unique solutions for the industry will make it possible to bring wastewater treatment to almost 100%, which is comparable to the level of treatment in the food industry,” added the Rosprirodnadzor.

The company noted that Gazprom Neft's investments in the creation of the complex amount to 19 billion rubles.

“Due to the closed cycle of new treatment facilities and the re-involvement of more than 70% of treated water in production, the Omsk Refinery will reduce the consumption of water resources by 6 million cubic meters per year,” the plant added.

The federal project “Clean Air” is being implemented in 12 large industrial cities. It is aimed at reducing emissions of pollutants into the air by 22.41% by 2024 and is part of the national project “Ecology”, approved by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in May 2018.
