On the Day of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky honored the memory of the soldiers who gave their lives defending the Motherland.

A wreath with flowers of the Ukrainian people was laid at the Wall of Remembrance of the Fallen Defenders in the Russian-Ukrainian War on Mikhailovskaya Square in Kyiv. Zelensky and all those present honored the memory of the fallen soldiers with a minute of silence.

Zelensky stressed that the exploits of the heroes are forever in the history of the country and in our hearts. The future victory, according to the president, will be the best honor for our defenders.

On The fighters for independence were also honored in the Lvov region

At the Lychakiv cemetery in Lviv, the memory of the fighters for the independence of Ukraine was also honored. The head of the Lviv OVA Maxim Kozitsky, politicians, clergy and the public prayed for all the heroes who gave their lives for the peace and independence of our state.

They laid flowers and lamps at the graves on the Field of Mars, on the fields of honorary burials No. 67 and No. 76 of the Lychakiv cemetery. There was also a memorial service. Kozitsky noted that they remember the exploits of each and every one who did not return from the battlefield, defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
