In the war in Ukraine, a native of the village of Stiezhok, Ternopil region, Roman Korchemny, died. He was only 19 years old.

The Ukrainian Hero was buried on March 16th. He volunteered to defend his country.

What is known about the deceased soldier

Roman Korchemny died as a result of a mortar attack near Belogorovka, Donetsk region. The 19-year-old defender was raised by his grandfather because his mother died when he was 16 years old.

In January 2023, Roman voluntarily stood up for Ukraine and was accepted into military service under a contract in the Armed Forces.

On the Square of Heroes of the Maidan, the priests sent a memorial service for the dead. The funeral procession moved to Stiezhka, where along the road from Shumsk, the deceased Hero was met on their knees by local residents.

March 16 was declared a day of mourning in the Shumskaya community.

Ukrainian Heroes who died at the front

• Vasily Shevchuk, a native of Khorostkov, Ternopil region, recently died at the front. Previously, he became the record holder, who lay naked under the snow for 20 minutes.
• In the battles for Bakhmut, the famous historian, archaeologist, teacher, guide and patriot Yuri Kovalenko died. In the spring of 2022, he defended the Chernihiv region.
• Also, a defender from Lvov Dmitry Pashchuk died in Kherson. The hero died as a result of being wounded by a kamikaze drone. He was a fighter of the MTR and a scout.
• In the war, during the defense of Bakhmut, a fighter from the Lviv region, Igor Ilechko, died. The defender had a small son.
