APU is holding a part of the Luhansk region/The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Head of the Luhansk OVA Sergei Gaidai noted that the entire Luhansk region is not occupied. Despite the statements of Russian propagandists, a small part is still held by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The situation in the region is very difficult. However, as of July 9, a small part of the Luhansk region is still controlled by Ukraine.

Everything that a few days ago Shoigu reported that they had already captured the entire Lugansk region, this is not a real fact, because at least a small part, very small, but part of the Lugansk region is holding on, – Gaidai stated.

He stressed that while our defenders are fighting in that part and destroying both enemy equipment and soldiers of the Russian army, we can say that the Luhansk region is holding on and this will not be a lie of people.

In particular, on July 8 in Luhansk areas of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed many enemy tanks and ammunition depots. Very often, Ukrainian soldiers destroy the enemy in the rear, as well as their barracks with personnel. The head of the Luhansk OVA stressed that the operational pause of the Russians is due solely to the success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia wants to hold a referendum in the Luhansk region

Gaidai said that the so-called “LPR” wants to hold a referendum so that when Ukraine will receive a sufficient number of weapons, the invaders were able to declare that we are attacking Russian lands and will announce mobilization.

Note that the defense of the Luhansk region is now held by the village of Verkhnekamenka. In general, according to Gaidai, the Russians moved slowly through the region. For more than 4 months they managed to cover only 30 kilometers of the Luhansk region. At the same time, the enemy suffered colossal losses.
