The Kremlin is aware of the exercises on the sustainability of the Runet in conditions of disconnection from the global network, the authorities consider them relevant against the background of the sanctions policy, said the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
The Kremlin spokesman noted that cybercrime is gaining momentum in the world, and the fight against it at the international level is still ineffective. In addition, the restriction policy is extremely unpredictable, which forces Russia to be ready for anything, he said.
As the website kp.ru wrote, on the eve of Russia there was a test of the stability of the Runet operation when the Russian segment was disconnected from the global network. According to preliminary data, the exercises, which took place from June 15 to July 15, were successful.
Earlier, the head of the InfoWatch group of companies Natalya Kasperskaya said that Russia has the technical capabilities to ensure the autonomous operation of the Russian segment of the Internet.
